Matt Black, more commonly known as Matthew Burgess (@matblak), is a prominent New Zealand Māori chef based in London, recognized for his bold, flavourful cooking, mastery of live-fire cooking (especially with Big Green Egg), and his food consultancy Kaiwhenua. He trained under culinary legends like Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver, became Group Executive Chef for the Caravan restaurants, and now develops recipes, runs supper clubs, and promotes his heritage through food.
